Old Bangla text typed in Bijoy (SutonnyMJ) turns into gibberish like “evsjv‡`k” when you paste it online. Paste it here and get clean Unicode Bangla (বাংলাদেশ) — or convert Unicode back to Bijoy for print and old Word files. Conjuncts (যুক্তাক্ষর), reph and kars are handled properly, both ways.
Note: Bijoy text only looks like English letters — that is the ANSI encoding. It reads as proper Bangla once pasted into a document with the SutonnyMJ font applied. Unicode text reads correctly everywhere. Everything is converted locally in your browser; your text is never uploaded.
Three steps, in either direction. Conversion happens as you type or paste — there is no convert button to press.
Choose Bijoy → Unicode for old SutonnyMJ text, or Unicode → Bijoy when a press, DTP file or old Word template needs Bijoy. Pasted the wrong way? The tool notices and offers to switch.
Paste straight from MS Word, PageMaker, Facebook or anywhere else — or open a .txt file. A whole chapter is fine; long documents convert in one go.
Copy the result, or download it as a .txt file. For Bijoy output, apply the SutonnyMJ font in Word or Illustrator to see the Bangla.
The 1990s-era encoding still used by Bangladeshi printing presses, newspapers and old office files. Bangla letters are stored as English letters and symbols, so the text only displays correctly with a Bijoy font — everywhere else it looks like “Avgvi bvg”. Convert it to Unicode before publishing online.
The modern standard used by websites, Facebook, YouTube, phones and email. Unicode text displays correctly on any device, can be searched, copied and indexed by Google. Type it with Avro, Ridmik, Gboard or any Unicode keyboard — and convert to Bijoy only when a print workflow demands it.
The most-used Bijoy (SutonnyMJ) keys. Kars like ি, ে and ৈ are typed before the consonant in Bijoy, even though they appear after it in Unicode.

Bijoy is an ANSI encoding: Bangla letters are stored using English letter codes, and a Bijoy font such as SutonnyMJ draws the Bangla shapes. On a phone, website or any computer without that font, you see the raw codes instead — things like “evsjv‡`k” for বাংলাদেশ. Converting to Unicode replaces the codes with real Bangla characters that display everywhere.
Apply the SutonnyMJ font (or another Bijoy/Bangladesh ANSI font) to the converted text in MS Word, Adobe Illustrator, InDesign or Photoshop. Without the font, the Bijoy output will keep looking like English letters even though the encoding is correct.
Yes. The converter uses the full Bijoy mapping with the standard reordering rules for pre-kars (ি, ে, ৈ), reph (র্), র-ফলা, য-ফলা and compound conjuncts like ক্ষ, জ্ঞ, ষ্ট, ন্ত্র and স্ত্র — in both directions, so words like বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়, স্বাস্থ্য and প্রধানমন্ত্রী come through intact.
No. All conversion happens locally in your browser with JavaScript — nothing is sent to a server, so private documents stay on your device.
You can paste long text — even a full chapter — or open a .txt file with the button above, then download the converted result as a .txt file. For .doc/.docx files, copy the text out of Word, convert it here, and paste it back.
A few legacy Bijoy documents contain typing quirks — doubled kars, a mis-typed ঁ, or characters from a different ANSI font (for example a non-SutonnyMJ font). This converter already repairs the most common Bijoy typing mistakes; for the rare leftover, fixing that one character by hand in the output is fastest.
